Spicy Sesame Tuna Steak

March 18
One of my favorite meals is a great rare tuna steak!  Here is a quick and easy dry rub that I think would go great with a little bit of a tamari/honey reduction and of course, even though this rub has plenty of heat, wasabi!

Spicy Sesame Tuna Steak

  • 4 6oz Tuna Steaks
  • 1/4 Cup Sesame Seeds (un-toasted)
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Five Spice Powder
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoons Spicy Steak Seasoning (I prefer Montreal Spicy Steak)

Place sesame seeds, five spice, and steak seasoning in a small bowl.  Dredge both flat surfaces on the tuna in the spice mixture.  In a preheated pan on high heat, spray a light layer of cooking spray.  Add tuna steaks and sear for 1 minute on each side, or just until the Tuna starts to turn color.  Flip and repeat on the other side.  Remove from heat and enjoy!
